Women in STEM and Resources Impact Award
This award recognises an exceptional women applying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to create meaningful impact in the mining or METS sector.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Work, study, or contribute to the mining or METS sector through a STEM discipline, which may include research, student projects, internships, professional roles, or advocacy initiatives.
- Demonstrate impact through technical achievement, innovation, problem-solving, research, or leadership.
- Be at any career stage (student, graduate, emerging professional, mid-career, or senior leader).
- AusIMM or Austmine membership is desirable, but not compulsory.
Key STEM disciplines include (but are not limited to):
- Geoscience, mining engineering, metallurgy, environmental science
- Data science, automation, robotics, AI, digital systems
- Research, commercialisation, product or technical development
- Safety, sustainability, decarbonisation, operational excellence
The award will be presented to the woman who best demonstrates a meaningful impact through STEM application, innovation, leadership, or advocacy, creating positive outcomes for their organisation, community, or the broader resources sector.

You can submit your entry by:
- Written response to the questions below, or
- Video submission (up to five minutes) addressing the same questions

- Tell us about a specific project, initiative or achievement where you applied STEM skills to create measurable impact in the resources sector.
This could include advancing STEM practice, improving processes, driving innovation, or supporting your team or community. (max 300 words)
- Explain how you have influenced others, contributed to industry progress, or supported diversity and inclusion in STEM within the resources sector.
This could include mentoring, teamwork, volunteering, knowledge-sharing, collaboration, advocacy, or inspiring the next generation. (max 300 words)
- How are you continuing to develop your STEM capability or career, and what impact do you hope to make in the future?
This could include upskilling, research pathways, leadership goals, professional development, and advocacy. (max 300 words)
