Keynote Presentation

From Drones to Decisions — How Women are Shaping Resources Technology

Dr Catherine Ball — Scientific Futurist, Author & Founder

From tracking turtles off Western Australia’s coastline to advising on the future of autonomous mining, Dr Catherine Ball has witnessed firsthand how technology is transforming industries.

In this keynote, Catherine will explore how drones, AI, robotics and automation are reshaping the resources sector — and why women are uniquely positioned to lead this transformation. Drawing on her experience founding the World of Drones Congress and advising global innovation challenges, she will challenge attendees to move from passive observers to active architects of mining’s technological future.

Panel Discussion

The Technology Activation Gap — Bridging Innovation Intent and Operational Reality

Rather than speaking about technology in the abstract, panellists will share:

  • Real decisions they have made
  • Barriers they have encountered
  • What worked — and what didn’t
  • Actions attendees can apply within their own organisations

This is a practical, outcomes-focused conversation designed to move innovation from intent to execution.
