Introduction
1. Information on how to enter and the prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this competition is acknowledgment that you have read, understood and deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2. The promoters are Austmine Limited (“Austmine”) ABN 77 008 657 887 of Suite 201, 80 William Street, Sydney, New South Wales, 2011 (“Austmine’s Office”) and The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (“AusIMM”) ABN 59 836 002 494 Ground Floor, 204 Lygon St, Carlton VIC 3053 (AusIMM’s office) together the Promoters.
3. The event being promoted is the Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX25) which takes place from 20 – 22 May 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (“Event”).
4. The promotion starts on 24 September 2024 and ends at 5pm (Las Vegas Time) on 26 September 2024 (“Promotion Period”).
5. The prize draw is open to individuals who attend MINExpo International 2024 in Las Vegas Nevada and have their delegate pass scanned at the Austmine or AusIMM stands located at the Australia Pavilion.
6. Entrants must be 21 years of age or older.
7. Employees of the Promoters and its associated entities and agencies and their immediate family members are not permitted to enter.
How to Enter
8. To enter the prize draw, entrants must have their delegate pass scanned at either the Austmine or AusIMM stands during MINExpo International 2024 Promotion Period.
9. Each delegate pass may only be scanned once at each stand, and a scanned delegate’s pass equals one entry.
Draw Details and Prizes
10. The prize winners will be determined by a random electronic draw to be conducted at the Austmine and the AusIMM Offices at 10 am on Thursday 10 October 2024 Sydney time.
11. The total prize pool consists of:
- Two x one Full Delegate Pass to the Event to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 20 – 22 May 2025
- 5 nights’ accommodation in Brisbane, Australia (to cover the conference period)
- Each prize is valued at approximately AUD $5,000 plus GST.
12. One prize will be drawn from entries scanned by Austmine and the other prize drawn from entries scanned by AusIMM.
13. The prize cannot be redeemed for cash or any other alternative.
14. The prize winners are responsible for any additional costs not covered by the prize, such as travel permits, airfares, travel expenses, meals and other incidentals.
15. The prize may be transferred to another representative from the prize winner's company. The Promoters must be advised of the proposed prize transfer before 5pm Friday 18 April 2025 Sydney time.
Winner Notifications
16. The prize winners will be notified in writing by phone and e mail on the day of the draw and their name (once verified) will be published on the Event website on the date of the draw. If the prize winner does not reply to the notification within 7 days the promoter reserves the right to redraw the prize.
17. Prize winners must contact the Promoters on the following email grx@etf.com.au on or before 5pm Friday 18 April 2025 Sydney time to confirm attendance at the Event, register for the Event, and confirm required accommodation dates. Failure to contact the Promoters by email grx@etf.com.au and provide the requested information and register for the Event by 5pm 18 April 2025 will result in the prize winner’s entitlement to the prize lapsing.
Unclaimed Prizes
18. If necessary, any redraw for any unclaimed prize will take place at 10am on Thursday 3 October 2024 Sydney time at each Promoters’ Offices subject to any directions of a regulatory authority. The redraw winner/s (if any) will be notified by e mail & phone & their name published on the Event website on the date of the redraw. If the prize is claimed and the prize winner cannot attend or validly transfer the prize, the prize will not be redrawn.
Privacy and Use of Information
19. The Promoters collect personal information (“PI”) from entrants to conduct this Promotion & may disclose this PI to regulatory authorities and relevant third parties, including its related entities, agents & the prize suppliers. The Promoters and these third parties may use this PI for promotional, marketing, research, and profiling purposes (including sending electronic messages to or phoning the entrants) in accordance with the law and their respective privacy policies. 20. By participating in the Promotion, entrants agree to the collection and use of their personal information for the purposes of administering the draw and for receiving communications from the Promoters and their contractors.
21. Entrants scanned by Austmine agree to receive updates from Austmine, and participants scanned by AusIMM agree to receive AusIMM’s Professional Development eNewsletters.
22. Participants may unsubscribe from these mailing lists at any time by following the unsubscribe links provided in the communications.
23. The winner consents to the use of their name, voice, and image in any media without remuneration for the purposes of promoting the business, products and services of the Promoters.
General Matters and Exclusion of Liability
24. The Promoters reserve the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process.
25. If this Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoters, the Promoters may, to the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to any written directions from a relevant authority, modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Promotion, as appropriate.
26. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoters excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential - arising in any way out of this competition or the awarding or use of a prize. The Promoters accepts no responsibility for any tax implications arising from the prize. The prize winners should seek independent financial advice as to such implications.
27. The Promoters’ decisions are final, and the Promoters will not enter into any correspondence with respect to them.
28. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales and any disputes arising will be determined in the courts of New South Wales.
