Exceptional Innovation in Mining

This award recognises outstanding innovation that delivers measurable impact within the mining industry. It is open to mining organisations or collaborative partnerships between mining companies and METS organisations that demonstrate how innovation drives meaningful change in operational performance, sustainability, productivity, or safety.

Your submission will be judged against the following criteria:

  • Significance: The impact and outcomes achieved through the innovation within mining operations or across the mining value chain.
  • Novelty: The originality and ingenuity of the innovation, including its application in mining or through collaboration between mining and METS partners.
  • Industry Benefit: The demonstrated or potential benefits of the innovation to the company, partners, and the broader mining sector.

Please note: Submissions for the Exceptional Innovation in Mining Award are open to Mining organisations OR mining/METS collaboration only. Awards submissions for stand alone METS should be nominated within the Outstanding Innovative METS Company Award category.

  1. Company Overview: Provide a brief overview of your company, including core operations and relevance to the mining sector – Max words: 300
  2. Executive Summary: Provide a short summary of the innovation, including what it is, who it benefits, and the key outcomes – Max words: 200
  3. Innovation Description: Briefly describe your innovation, the problem or opportunity it addresses, and who it benefits – Max words: 500
  4. Originality: Provide details about the originality of your innovation – Max words: 500
  5. Collaboration: Provide details about the collaboration efforts on your innovation – Max words: 500
  6. Impact: Describe the impact your innovation has made – Max words: 500
  7. Practical Application: Explain how your innovation is practically applied – Max words: 500
  8. Measurable Benefits: Provide details on the measurable benefits of your innovation – Max words: 500
