Excellence in Resources by a New Professional Award
This award celebrates an early-career professional making a meaningful and positive impact in the resources sector.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be in the first five years of their career in the mining or METS sector
- Be a current financial member of Austmine, AusIMM, or participants in AusIMM’s New Professionals Network.
- Apply individually or be nominated by an employer, colleague, or mentor
The award will be presented to the individual who best demonstrates a significant and positive impact from an initiative, project, idea or innovation delivered during their early career in the mining or METS sector.
Submissions should highlight how this work is making a meaningful and positive impact on their organisation, their community or the broader resources sector.
How to apply
You can submit your entry by:
- Written response to the questions below, or
- Video submission (up to five minutes) addressing the same questions
To help you prepare, here’s an overview of the questions you'll need to answer. Please note that your progress won't be saved, so we recommend preparing your answers beforehand.
1. Tell us about yourself/the person you are nominating and your/their role in the resources sector. (max 300 words)
2. Please describe the initiative, project or innovation developed and how it has delivered a positive impact on your organisation, community or the resources sector. Include the challenge, the solution and the benefits that followed. (max 300 words)
3. What would winning this award mean to you/them? (max 150 words)
A video submission can also be made addressing the above questions within a 5-minute time limit.
