Champion of Innovation Award
The Champion of Innovation Award recognises an individual who has made a transformative and sustained contribution to innovation within the mining and METS sector. This award celebrates those who have demonstrated original thinking, measurable impact, and influence across organisations, regions, or international markets.
Your submission will be judged against the following criteria:
- Measurable impact of the nominee’s contribution to innovation throughout their career
- Sustained application of innovative thinking across multiple organisations or over time
- International implications or evidence of global contribution
Help to Prepare Your Submission
To make the process easier and ensure strong, well-structured responses, we recommend preparing the following before starting:
Information to Gather
- A short career biography of the nominee (key roles, contributions, achievements)
- Specific examples of innovations led or influenced by the nominee
- Evidence of measurable impact (e.g., data, KPIs, adoption, improvements, awards)
- Any international involvement or recognition
- Brief testimonials, endorsements, or public references (if available)
Tips for a Strong Submission
- Use clear facts and outcomes — focus on how the innovation changed results, culture, or industry practice
- Provide quantitative evidence where possible (e.g., % improvement, $ value, safety gains, emissions reductions)
- Highlight multiple organisations or long-term impact, not just one project
- If confidential details can’t be shared, describe the type of impact achieved instead of the specific IP
- Use headings or bullet points to structure long answers for readability
To support a smooth submission process, we strongly recommend preparing your responses before starting the online application, as your progress may not be saved once you begin.
