Tony Davis
Tony Davis is an international executive with a rare combination of military operational leadership, major capital project management, senior global industrial executive experience and government trade and investment leadership spanning more than 30 years.
Appointed CEO of Austmine in April 2026, Tony leads Australia's peak industry body representing over 800 METS member organisations. His focus is on strengthening Australia's global competitiveness in mining innovation, accelerating member export growth and championing the role of METS in decarbonisation and critical minerals development.
His career spans senior global roles with Rolls-Royce plc, Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG and Group CEO of Stewart & Stevenson LLC, where he led a turnaround resulting in a US$756 million sale to Kirby Corporation. As Austrade’s leader for North and Latin America, he delivered record trade and investment outcomes for the Federal Agency. Tony began his career in the Royal Australian Navy as a weapons and combats systems engineering officer before leading the Naval Systems Division at Saab in Australia and Sweden.
