Shannon began his career in Mackay, Queensland, completing a Mechanical Engineering Trade while working on draglines, drills, and shovels across various Bowen Basin's mining operations. His journey progressed into underground coal mining, where he gained valuable experience on longwall moves and as a shift fitter at Crinum.

Transitioning into hard rock mining, Shannon worked in Newman at Mt Whaleback, Gidgee Gold at Agnew, Darlot Gold Mine at Leinster and KCGM operations in Kalgoorlie before returning to Queensland with MIM, residential in Mount Isa. In 2004, he entered the OEM space, contributing to mature and emerging markets across the APAC region. He played a key role in establishing new facilities in Mount Isa for Flygt pumps, and later led operations in Newcastle and Perth.

Shannon's expertise expanded internationally when he relocated to Malaysia to support M&A integration and build distribution networks across greater Asia. His focus has consistently been on delivering robust sales and aftermarket support, ensuring mining operators have strong, on-the-ground service across the region, including Mongolia, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Loas, Cambodia and Vietnam.
