Mikko Tepponen brings over 20 years of expertise in digital transformation and development. He holds a Master of Science, Automation Technology degree from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, and has completed executive education at IMD. Before joining BHP, Mikko served as Chief Digital Officer and Chief Operations Officer at FLSmidth, where he drove digital transformation and oversaw global manufacturing, IT, quality, and GBS operations as part of the executive leadership team reporting directly to the CEO. Earlier in his career, he led transformation and digital initiatives across the energy, marine, and mining sectors at Wärtsilä and Outotec. Mikko also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Etteplan, a Finnish engineering services company listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
