GRX26 to spotlight global mining innovation in Perth
With just one week to go, Perth is set to host the mining and METS industry at the Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX26) from 5–7 May.
Held at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, the event will unite mining companies, technology providers and international delegations at a time when demand for innovation, efficiency and new supply is reshaping the sector.
Co-hosted by peak bodies Austmine and AusIMM, and endorsed by the Minerals Council of Australia, GRX26 is an industry-led event, with its program shaped by mining companies and METS organisations and focused on the practical challenges facing operations today.
Major mining companies including BHP, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, South32, Hancock Iron Ore, Evolution Mining and Alcoa will be represented across the program and broader event, alongside international operators such as Poderosa, Alpayana and Nexa Resources.
Bringing these companies together with METS and technology providers creates a direct opportunity to understand how innovation is being applied across mining operations, from improving productivity and safety to advancing sustainability and supporting the growing demand for critical minerals.
International engagement is a defining feature of this year’s event. Delegations from Canada, Peru, Chile, the Philippines and New Caledonia will travel to Perth, with many organisations actively seeking partnerships and solutions across energy, processing and digital capability.
Through curated B2B sessions, country-led workshops and structured networking, GRX26 is designed to facilitate practical connections between Australian METS companies and global operators.
Innovation will also be in focus through the Global Open Innovation Colab, which brings together partners from Australia, Chile, Peru and Canada to address challenges in critical minerals development.
Six finalists, selected through a global call for solutions, will present technologies spanning extraction, processing and digital innovation, with live pitches giving delegates visibility of emerging approaches and the opportunity to explore potential pilot partnerships.
Across the broader program, sessions will cover critical minerals strategy, decarbonisation, digital transformation and operational performance, with an emphasis on real-world application and industry relevance.
With Western Australia playing key role as a central hub in global mining, GRX26 provides a timely opportunity to connect local capability with international markets, while bringing different parts of the value chain together in one location.
With the event now just days away, GRX26 offers a unique opportunity to be in the room with the companies and decision-makers shaping the direction of the industry.
