Australian mining companies are world-leading competitors. But competition doesn’t mean there are not gains from cooperation. Particularly for attracting new workers into to the industry. The Minerals Industry Experience (MiEX) is an unprecedented collaboration between the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), BHP, Rio Tinto, Idemitsu, Komatsu and Glencore. Partnering with leading universities, this initiative gives mining-curious STEM students immersive exposure to modern mining. challenging outdated perceptions and opening eyes to the innovation, technology and career possibilities that define today’s industry.

With over 500 applications, 70 participants, and more than 60% female representation, MiEX demonstrates what’s possible when industry unites.
